On Page SEO Factors

So you want to learn the on page SEO factors?

Well here are the top factors to consider getting your on page SEO perfect!

On Page SEO Factors: Take Note

The Title Tag - This is also known as the HTML tag and is the title on your webpage. In other words it's that thing that appears on the top left corner of your browser. This is one of the most important on page SEO factors, but for some reason it is often neglected! There are so many pages on the internet that have "untitled" as the status of the title tag. Please, don't be one of these people and have the keyword you are targeting as the Title!

The Keyword Appearing in the first 50 words on the page - Now, the search engine bots send spiders to crawl your site. What they do is take snap shots of your website and then decide how relevant your site is to a particular niche.

These bots always takes a snap shot of the first 50 words on your page, so if you want to target a keyword, make sure it appears in the first 50 words of the article!

The Meta Description - This is also another tag that the search engine spiders will pay attention to. So that's another on page SEO factor that you need to consider optimizing your site for. Make sure you include the keyword you are targeting in the meta description also.

Keyword density - This used to be a really big SEO on page factor that would get you on the first page of the search engines if you did it right. Keyword stuffing used to get you places, but now it doesn't. However, that's not to say you don't need to include a certain percentage of the keywords you are targeting on your page. I usually like a keyword density of around 1 to 2 percent. This way the article will look natural and it won't look as if I'm striving to spam my pages with keywords.

Internal links - Don't forget to also include links to other pages on your site between your pages! You can give yourself a free boost in the rankings just by linking to other pages within your site with the correct anchor text targeting the specific keyword.

Outgoing links - Another often neglected on page SEO factor is linking to other trust sources in your niche. Think about this, the internet is made up of sites linking to one another. So if you don't have links pointing to other sites on your page, well you're kind of not contributing to the community. Just make sure the links you have going out are to good sites and are reputable, because you do get penalized if you link to bad sites. Oh, by the way, make sure you also don't have too many links pointing out, otherwise the search engines might think your site is a link farm and penalize you too.
